BRIDGEPORT STUDENTS ARE… SAFE RESPECTFUL RESPONSIBLE
SCHOOL-WIDE BEHAVIOR CURRICULUM....
TIME TO TEACH –
Teaching, modeling, and practicing expected behaviors to students, rewarding those who choose appropriate behaviors and supporting children who need more time to learn expected behaviors. Common language and consistent staff response is used to teach behavior expectations in all
school settings.
SECOND STEPS –
Taught by classroom teachers throughout the year. Helps students succeed socially and academically by learning about their feelings, feelings of others, problem solving techniques, and self- management.
STOP-WALK-TALK–
Anti-bully program that teaches students how to deal with bullies from the standpoint of someone who is being bullied, and from the standpoint of a bystander. Creates positive school climate, where all staff and students take a stance against bullying. Students are taught to first use the STOP SIGNAL when they feel they are being bullied. If this does not stop the problem the students are to WALK AWAY from the problem, and finally they are taught to TALK TO AN ADULT about the problem.
